Diana EsmatThis semester has been another exciting one for me. This month, I’ll be receiving my Orange vest as I officially become part of Texas Orange Jackets, the oldest honorary women service organization on campus. I’m glad to have spent most of my time working on our Tap project, an annual initiative that the new class of Texas Orange Jackets puts on to improve life at UT. This year we created Project Period, an initiative to distribute free feminine hygiene products across bathrooms on campus. Working with a group of the most passionate women on the Forty Acres has been the highlight of my semester. I also greatly enjoyed chairing the International Students Ad-Hoc Committee in the Senate of College Councils in which we worked on improving academic life for international longhorns. This semester, I was also delighted to receive my acceptance into the Archer Fellowship Program that will allow me to learn about policy in the U.S. as I study and intern in D.C. this upcoming fall. Lastly, as I was fortunate to land an internship with Deloitte in their office in Dallas to become part of their Transfer Pricing team. I’m excited for yet another adventurous summer in college.
