Wambui is from Nairobi, Kenya. She graduated in 2013 from ALA with top marks. She has just concluded a very busy gap year, working for a bank and maintaining leadership positions in educational non-profits. Wambui recounts that one of her most challenging academic achievements was research into aviation psychology, which drives her goal to be involved in aviation management when she returns to Africa. Wambui is also passionately motivated by the educational needs of children of all ages. While at ALA, she volunteered at a preschool in an impoverished area. When she noticed that many of the children were forlorn and neglected and therefore not ready to learn, she and her co-workers developed a curriculum to help motivate, encourage, and instill values into these children. This past year she has worked with the Equity Group Foundation for Education Department, providing promising secondary students with the necessary support to enroll in university. We are thrilled to be partnering with OSU to provide the education that will support her strong leadership qualities.
